about 1/3rd of what you get would be nice to give yer mum for all them lovely dinners and doing the washing. Should still give you enough pocket money for sweeties.
My parents don't charge me any rent while im at home (non-term time). If I was working I would try to contribute some money (student), but I doubt they would take it. I guess it depends how much you can afford to part with.
When I started full time work I gave my mum £50 a week. After a few payrises and after I started working for myself, I gave her around £100 a week. I suppose it depends on what you earn but 25% of your take home pay per week is about right I'd say.
It aint that much to say i take home over £1200 but i do pay for the internet and often endup giving my little sister money to go out with on weekends which is something else my mum dosnt have to pay out.
plus she knows if she ever wants any more she only has to ask.
I left my parents house and got a flat before I got a job so I never had to pay rent to her. My brothers on the other hand, I think paid £120-£150 a month.
