I am currently lodging in a semi with a homeowner but want to take out insurance to cover my contents - does anyone know if I can get insurance to do just this or do I have to get insurance to cover the house as well? When I am trying out some quotes I am not able to select the amount of cover for contents I actually want. I only need about 5k worth but the minimum I am allowed to select seems to be 20k plus which is simply too much. Are there any specialist insurance companies that deal with small content amounts for people who rent/lodge that you know of? 
I just thought it was silly to insure the whole house where as a student I can now just do my room - Cheers guys
