Returned home to find the cat had tipped over a vase resulting in the water damage you can see on the table.

It was some time ago so all dried out now but wondering if this is something that can repaired as diy job and if so how? Or if a professional could restore it?

(We still have the cat - just no more vases allowed on the table )

Sandpaper, elbow grease and wax. Or if the stain is deep, sandpaper, elbow grease and stain/coloured wax.
Andi.

I thought it may be some combination of those :)

I've got a random orbit sander I used to strip and cleanup some wooden stairs years ago - will pickup some fresh pads for that and give it a go.

Job done and I'm happy with the result.

Went through quite a few discs as they were very quickly getting gummed up with wax - but once through that it was quite straight forward.

It's worth doing it every 5 - 10 years and re- waxing anyway, especially if you have cats. One of ours thinks the legs are scratch posts.
