Just need to see what ones are compatible with your laptop.
We did it in an old Acer, temperatures shot through the roof using the standard cooling though.
It's not difficult to do, just need to watch the temps.

the cpu i mentioned is on a S1 socket which mine is, I had alook around for a beefer fan for the dv6000 series but everyone i seen on the web looks the same as mine. ill take the risk and buy a turion x2 or if anyone thinks i shouldnt.
