Replaced trackball, and now its worse? Which way round should I have put it? (8900)

Hi there,

Just replaced my trackball on my 8900 curve and it seems much, much worse lol. I got my trackball from True supplier.

Which way does the trackball need to go in? Or does it not matter?

On the PCB where the trackball goes there was some black stuff there, is that normal?

Why did you replace your trackball??...the 8900 has a better trackball mechanism than the other BB's.

Sorry cant be of much help as ive never had to take apart any of my BB's. Try asking in crackberry, pretty sure there are people there who have taken apart the 8900 curves.
The black stuff i imagine is meant to be there for a reason...oh well hope you get it working properly as you probably voided your warranty taking it apart.

The trackball on 8900's get dirt stuck under them very very easily, mine was the same. On top of that my case was marked and dented to hell, it needed replacing.

Bleh I'll just stick the old one back in.
