Replacement central locking fob (Citroen ZX)

First off, have you checked/replaced the battery? I didn't have any luck getting a 2nd hand fob working for my Xsara, my local dealer told me a new one was needed (£100+), you'll need the car that should be in your handbook for getting anything coded. I got a key blade by itself done for £25 which was OK as a spare, but if you remote locked it then opened the car with the spare blade the alarm went off until the key was in the ignition - not much good for everyday use!

If it's an older model of key you might be able to code a second hand one yourself - might be worth a shot for the ~£20 they go for on eBay.
 
I's not a key it's just a fob. there are no electrics in the key itself like on newer cars.

it'm more an aqnnoyance than anything else :)
