I currently own a Cambridge Soundworks DTT3500 Amplifier and its time for a new replacement.

Over the last few months i have seen (heard) a series of problems with my Amplifier, when on a Digital Input, the audio will be cut and then comes back. I know this is not my PC at fault as it did it too with my PS3 on optical.

Now I have tested it on optical and coaxial and i know the digital inputs are defiantly poopooed.

I need some advice for a replacement as i need an optical (for my PS3), and a Analog or Digital input for my PC.

My current setup is A pair of B&W DPM 601S3's, (L&R) and then the default Centre, Rear L&R satellites and Sub woofer.

I know these are max of 7W, and then the 601's for memory are 120W max, so i need a amplifier what is of moderate price (not too costly), good quality audio (i know that is difficult for a moderate price) and what will not damage my speakers.

I'm astonished you're running DM601s (assuming DPMs are the same thing) off a DTT3500. I used to have DM601 series 1 and have the Creative 5700 Inspire Digital Speakers which include practically the same amp (they even use the same remote).

I would have never considered using that amp to power those speakers.

You want a home-theatre / hi fi receiver or amp with those speakers. Practically nothing designed for the PC is really good enough to drive them. I would go and ask about recievers in the home-theatre / hifi forum (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=29).

Incidentally my Creative amp developed the same problems you described a couple of years ago. It flat out refuses to recognise a Dolby Digital or DTS signal at all now.
