Replacement graphics card - S-Video cable does not fit into S-Out port

Hi all

I've just bought a new graphics card to replace another that has broken in my media centre. The media centre is connected to my TV by S-Video. The new graphics card has a port labelled 'S-Out', yet the S-Video cable doesn't fit into this any which way. Has anyone got any ideas what is going on?

Might help if you told us which card you bought.

A lot of cards have an S-Video looking connector which is actually not S-Video. Check the box of the card for a small cable that plugs into this hole & leads to an S-Video/Component connector.

There will be a rectangular piece of plastic amongst the pins in the cable. Snap it off with some tweezers (it serves no purpose) and it will be pin-compatible with the card.

Finally found out that the connector is a VIVO connector, and thus you need to connect a breakout box to get an s-video port. Luckily I had one from an old graphics card!
