replacement of rear wiper/wash stalk.

Wonder if someone could help me with my wiper/Wash, and front wash.

Basically the front wipers till operate, but when I push/pull or use rotate the switch on the stalk the back wiper fails to work.

I have changed the 15Amp fuse, still the same... just seems dead.

1. How difficult is it to change a wiper stalk, can is a Almera and it uses the same as this primera.

2. Is there anything else that I have overlooked that could also be cuasing the problem. After a bit of googling it seems quite common for these stalks just to die!
 
I can only assume that it is the stalk.

The reason being is

The wiper function, rear wash, front wash, has all failed at the same time.

All fuctions on that stalk, only function that works now is the front wipers.

Fuse is good, I went ashead and found a replacement part on the auction site cost me £26 pounds.

Not sure if I should try to fit this myself. As I rang around for an auto electrcain, someone is coming out monday morning, charging me £20 for diags. Hopefully he will agree we me. I am pressumming that the motor, wipers and front wiper are independent of each other, but use the part of same swich on that stalk.

From what I have head it is common for these stalks to fail.
