hi, i have accidentaly damaged the front of my head unit, its got a crack just over an inch long were the screen is.

its a Alpine CDE-9850Ri iPod Full Speed.

how would i go about geting a replacement fascia?

thx for help

Could you let us know how you get on? Pricewise etc? I can't see these being cheap nor easy to get hold of. Surely somebody who has nicked a HU could just then buy a faceplate and then have a fully working unit?

He'll probably have to supply proof of purchase.

I'd hope so. I wonder what the price would be like?

On a low-end product, I bet it wouldn't be worth buying a replacement - but as in the OP's case, it's a rather tasty unit!

couldnt get through on the phone so have sent them an email

i was rather gutted when i did it too :(

will let u no what happens

Found Alpine parts service to be very good myself. Bought a new shell, couple of LEDs and a couple of buttons for my 9855 front after one of my dogs managed to chew it up.
Prices where fairly reasonable too and delivery speedy.

That's good to hear. Fingers crossed!

I'm sure I heard somewhere you can't get a replacement fascia for a head unit but can get a replacement head unit for a fascia?

I don't know if it's true or not, but let me know how you get on - I have that head unit with a few scratches already.

I heard they are pretty expensive to replace?
Since the radio is only £145 I’d weigh up the cost of buying a new one and selling your damaged one on ebay.
