Replacing a failing i7-4790k 4GHz... Intel or AMD?

So we've gone from ryzen to 10 years back?
Lets go back further to pentium D. I'm not sure the point you are tying to make here.

My original comment which you replied to, was about AMD being well known for their sup par CPU and GPU perf. It was a general comment about AMD itself and the numerous products that they have launched that have been pretty poor.

My point is still stand and is factual. Ryzen won't change that perception especially with the ram *disguised swearing - EVH * it has been putting in.

How is AMD sub par this gen? The 1600 keeps up with the 7800x and the 1700 keeps up with the 7820x.
Yes the 7700k is still king but its also beating intels newer stuff aswell.
The ram was **** but its sorted now. The same way the x99 was and still has its issues.

The ram issue is far from sorted mate. Go to any PC forum and have a look. I've just upgrade over a week ago and i can't get more than 2400mhz. Anything more PC doesnt post.

Ryzen is an ok product, nothing more. Especially since intel will be launching 8000 series soon.

Then instead of just rubbishing a platform then why don't you ask for help with your ram ? If as it looks like you don't know how to clock your ram on AM4, then give us some mobo, ram and cpu info and let us help you.

It doesnt matter because it makes no difference.

I even went as far as also trying every option, different speed, timings, oced ram voltage, oced nb voltage etc.

Cannot get over 2400mhz no matter what.

You are blaming AMD for your incompetence. What board/ram/cpu did you have?

Oh.....................................so you are that good and KNOW that much you won't ask for help when stuck at 2400......................................i think that tells us all everything we need to know about your ability and the validity of anything you have to say really.

I was wondering why you come across so angry and bitter.

Plenty of good advice on here if you ask. It took me a couple of reboots to get my ram stable at 3333 c14. My previous ram off the motherboards qvl list worked at 2933 fine. When being the first to buy a new generation of cpu you have to expect a few challenges.
