:) yes sir, but you know what i mean like, hopefully some new gameplay elements, and better side missions than dead space remake and i'll be happy

Yeah I know man. Just said that for fun :p:)

I hope you are right. If they added stuff the way they did in the original RE remake then it will be great.

It bugs me that there's some content only available to those who pre-order - a treasure map and extra "treasures". I seriously doubt they'll make much difference to the actual overall experience, but the practice annoys me all the same.

Just pre order from CDKeys. If reviews come out and you are not happy, ask for a refund. Basically unless you view the key, you can request a refund.

Yours or random online image?

Well, because that's what it was but it was also a great game in its own right, one that I have a lot of fond memories of playing with my best friend so it's an easy purchase for me. And I never preorder stuff.

Was it a good RE game? No, I think I've already mentioned that here:p Still, I'm going to play the hell out of it.

This. It indeed was where RE games went downhill for me. I did not enjoy the game much as an RE game, but really enjoyed as a game if it makes sense.

I wonder if they will mess up the black levels like they did in Res Evil 2 remake meaning OLED is basically pointless because you don't get inky blacks like you do in say Res Evil Village or Res Evil 3.

Nope, they confirmed it was designed to make use of OLED. But said they will not support ultrawide to stay true to original material :p

Ok so here's the lowdown, runs really good, maxed everything and enabled ray tracing. no DLSS only FSR 1 and FSR2 but didn't use those as the sharpness is slightly reduced although fps is increased to over 100 in Quality FSR 2. Without any FSR it's around 70fps outside, over 80fps inside. 3440x1440. Looks really crisp, really smooth. No real stutters, couple of minor stutter before entering the house etc but nothing to write about.

Ultrawide supported! But cutscenes are fixed 16:9.

Not my kind of RE game, I remember now why I didn't really finish RE4 before. I much preferred RE3 Remake and Village. The black levels are crushed in this, it is NOT OLED optimised. You can bump the brightness all the way down after setting min/max for white/black, but even still pitch black is not actually pitch black, there's a crushed tone to pure darkness similar to RE2 Remake but not as bad as that. It's passable, but not what I would call OLED perfect like Village and RE3 was.

Oh yeah mouse camera sensitivity by default was way too low, had to max it out and only lower it a bit from max for the aim sensitivity. There is no hardware cursor so there is an ever so slight bit of latency but it's basically a non issue.

Pretty much my experience too.

Overall I really enjoyed it. No, not as a resi game, but just as a game that has a dude in it that asks me "whatcha buyin?" :D

@Nexus18 bad news bud, I saw vram usage go to 11GB :p

To be fair that is allocated, you might just get away with it with FSR :D

Well, I know for sure I'll enjoy this more than Village or RE3 Remake.

Village wasn't really a RE game either, just tried to masquerade as one and it had a bootload of flaws. It didn't know if it wanted to be an action game or a survival "horror" with braindead puzzles and it had those weird tonal shifts throughout. Some of the sections were super disappointing. And it had Ethan in it:p
I can play it and have fun no problem but it will always be just a RE4/RE7 hybrid that's worse than either of the two IMO.

RE4 at least knows what it is and I know exactly what I'm getting into so no disappointment here:p
I'm in for a nice reminder of the good ol' days, the action, and the merchant.

RE3 Remake I would prefer if it wasn't so undercooked. If RE4 Remake doesn't suffer from the same cuts and actually expands on some stuff, then no contest for me. If they butchered it, then we'll see but I can't see it being less fleshed out than 3.

Agreed. Had RE3 Remake been like the original and added stuff then I would have enjoyed it a lot more.

Here is how I predict it will end up on my list based on what I saw:

1- Resident Evil Remake
2- Resident Evil 2
3- Resident Evil: Code Veronica
4- Resident Evil 3
5- Resident Evil 2 Remake
6- Resident Evil 4 Remake
7- Resident Evil 0
8- Resident Evil Village
9- Resident Evil 3 Remake
10- Resident Evil 4
11- Resident Evil 7
12- Resident Evil 5
13- Resident Evil: Revelations
14- Resident Evil: Revelations 2
15- Resident Evil 6

It actually may even take 5th spot, as I was somewhat underwhelmed with RE2 Remake also which I felt lacked effort. That game had the potential to be number 1 on my list.
