I think im near the end (the more open part).

I don’t know if it’s just me but……..The game literally feels like 7 for me in the way it’s more like a film with a set sequence, on rails. You have to do everything a set way to move on to the next part and the enemies do the exact same sequence. I’m finding it too easy, too predictable and a bit boring. All that changes is the setting slightly but you’re doing the exact same things over and over.

It feels like it was made for VR at its very early stages. Sort of like playing a VR game without the headset!

Nah! Up until entering RPD you can backtrack, open previously closed off areas etc. But i agree, once in RPD the game becomes an on rail shooter.

It tells you what to do and what’s coming next too much. Two signs jump out which pretty much let you know what’s going to happen. “A tool that could open something”. It babies too much in my opinion.

It’s not a bad game, but you couldn’t pay me enough to play it again.

Which RE games did you find different? :)
The original RE on the PS1 was different for its time, 4 was more action based which was different and biohazard was different.

I see what you’re getting at “it’s RE what did you expect?” and that’s exactly my point, it’s just getting a bit too copy and paste at this point. There’s nothing new I haven’t already seen playing 7.

I do like the rest from Grace you get and the more action focused gameplay which breaks it up a little as Leon feels much more powerful in comparison.

I like more of the same. As in like the originals, like the first third of the game. Not interested in the action "lets spice it up" stuff. Use a different IP for that has always been my take.

What would you like to see?

For me would be take what the originals had, but expand on it. Make things bigger and better.

They had a great opportunity to do that with RE2 Remake but they either played it safe or didn't want to spend the money to make it.

Like look at the improvements made from Resident Evil to the Remake version. That especially for the time was a great achievement. They failed to do the same with RE2 Remake.

That’s what I mean, it just seems like they’re playing it safe and have done since 7 with this style. I want something more challenging, different movement patterns, harder puzzles, less hand holding (I’m sure you know that I mean regarding the signs letting you know what’s about to happen and the tools etc being so obvious), different enemy types with different abilities.

I love the creepy aspect of the games and at first it really gives you that immersive feeling however I think that’s just because I haven’t played this genre for so long, and it sort of wares off really fast for me. It turns into more of a “I know what’s coming here, and exactly how to avoid this, or deal with that”

I just feel like I’m playing a dumbed down version of the resident evil it could be.

Even the jump scares didn’t hit like I want them to. My wife tapping me on the shoulder when I had the lights off and headphones on was as bad as it got.

I tell you what though, the kid aspect adds to immersion, I liked that as it adds an aspect of responsibility for something weak and innocent!

But they can't, it is all about profits at the end of the day, not fan service and therefore they have a golden goose. Also compounded by the TikyTok generations who do not have an attention span.

If they change the formula, some will be saying why and it isn't RE anymore, so they try to capture the next generations playing style - everything handed to them on a plate.

If they did Requiem in the style of the OG RE series, puzzles, backtracking, challenging gameplay and challenging bosses, this game would be epic. But we are a dying breed and not the biggest demographic for Capcom.

To add to this, i've recommended some classic games and movies to my son. His response was he's watched YT walkthroughs and clips! WTF? But you haven't actually EXPERIENCED it.

I asked him to play Grace's first chapter, every time it went to a cut scene he was back on his phone :(

Unfortunately this is the case :(

I hope with AI in gaming CAPCOM can cater for us on the cheap.

I would love games made in the og style with pre rendered backgrounds. Should be super cheap (relatively speaking) to make with ai such a game.

I knew something was coming here! The area was too nice and too easy to get the required item and then be able to leave easily without nothing happening! I did not expect a bulldozer though :)

Yeah, I had a feeling too. Still got me though. I did say as soon as I collect that box something will happen. It didn't. Then a few feet later boom. Lol

Only way i can keep him off his phone:
