Anyone else able to confirm a huge performance increase when using the latest Nvidia patch?

I literally went from 70 FPS (PT, DLSS Performance, Everything else Max) - to 140 FPS with the same settings. I'm not used to seeing such a huge uplift from a patch which is why I'm sceptical and wondering if somethings broken

Note: I haven't properly got into the game yet, still in the process of setting up - fired up twice for 5 mins max. I intend on starting this evening!
Which patch is it exactly, 595.76?

That is going to be hard yeah. I did on standard classic which was not too bad. But did die once as I let a zombie get me twice. Lol. Didn't make that mistake the second go :p

Not sure if standard classic is meant to be harder, but it does feel that way vs standard modern.

Leon bit should feel easier this time as getting points earlier.

I fancy doing a quick third playthrough on easy mode and using unlocked stuff. This go the only thing I am using is 50 extra blood capacity thing I think.
It wasn't too bad in the end, just had take them out fast enough while they were separated- dicey, but shots to the knees to stagger + knife/headshots got me through it. Managed it second try but did have to use a heal.

Particularly satisfying getting to the care center as Leon this time and cleaning house, no ammo used so far either - going Leon S. Kratos on their butts :) (stealth axe takedowns).

Yeah I think Classic is a bit harder than Modern in general from what I've heard, rather than just having limited ribbons.

I currently have no CP unlocks as I took a copy of my save data after first beating the game on Classic and have gone back to that for Insanity mode, no unlocks sitting in my storage box to tease me!.

Just finished it. Took 12 hours playing around 2-3 hours per night. Tried to explore every nook and cranny and take my time as much as possible.

Still think the enemies with big glowing parts are far too easy these days and a bit Spider-Man like but……it’s modern gaming I suppose.

Good game overall, definitely worth a play through as it’s got something for everyone, and some nostalgic parts Resident Evil fans will enjoy.

Apart from 1 bug which needed a restart and the annoying film grain it’s been flawless, and on a 5090 at 4K with PT and everything maxed out with DLSS Quality and FG X2 its been smooth and performance was great with no stuttering etc.

I may revisit it in the near future to try the hardest setting.

Almost done with the first section of Racoon City. Nearly at RCPD.

I had two Mr Racoon thingy's I had missed from my first playthrough. Got one, now need to find the other.

Going to finish up over the weekend and then move over to RE2 Remake which I have got all modded and ready to go. Image quality looks so much better once you sort out HDR and have DLSS 4.

Will probably do RE3 Remake after that using same mod, then RE Remake which I have installed with 4K texture pack.

Basically got a good week or two of Resi games going before I move on to System Shock 2 Remake.

Not going to touch RE0 or Code Veronica as those have remakes coming :)

Not touching RE5 as got no interest in that one. Love Wesker, but the rest is a bit meh. And will never touch RE6 as that is just trash.

RE games usually are. One usually plays them at least twice if the game is any good.

I have played the OG ones probably a dozen times over the years

There's literally a score system for completion, and communities built around it.

just-got-my-first-s-plus-rank-in-resident-evil-2-remake-v0-a010md8qm2lg1.webp

Its always been built around multiple playthroughs, I wouldn't be surprised if it's the series that triggered the speed running trend.

They need to fix their wording, it assumes that wirelessly on PC dualsense will support haptics and adaptive triggers when this is not possible without Sony supporting it at FW level when paired to a computer, plus no games currently support both on PC either wirelessly, only possible via wired as the controller gets the signals over USB.

That's a weird quirk didn't know

FFS anyone with a decent HDR screen or OLED do yourself a favour and install the RenoDX mod.

I have played half the game without the mod and got confused / suspicious after being prompted to use the torch when I couldn't see any reason to.

Installed the mod and it's immediately obvious I've been playing the game with raised blacks and crappy contrast everywhere.

Argggh.
