Hi all,

I am having issues with resizing images for printing.

A friend asked me to edit a photo for her baby passport, edited it, cleaned it up and cropped to the correct dimensions in photoshop CS5.

Set image size to:

Document size:
Width : 35mm
Height : 45mm
resolution : 300 px/inch

Saved it as a jpeg and printed a test version via right clicking the image and selecting print as my friend would do, only for it to come out a lot bigger.

In the end I had to use a web page to figure out pixels per mm and then enter those in to the pixel dimensions to get the correct size.

Am I wrong in assuming that doc size should set the print size or am I doing something stupid?

In CS5, you should be able to just go to image/image size and set the size you want in mm/cm/inches etc. Is that what you mean when you say document size?

Not sure what you meant by printing by right clicking, I can't get a print dialogue by right clicking.

Yep, if you go to image size, you get the option to change the size of the image either by pixels, or below that you can change the document size.

In my version of windows 7 I can simply right click the image and select print, it also shows the pixel size at the bottom of the explorer bar, which is how I knew it was wrong.
