Hi all,

Does anyone know where you can buy indian curry online that is like the curry you would get in an Indian restaurant? I remember someone posting a link up to a recommended site on here a few years ago but can't find it. I find that all of the sauces available on the shelves in all of the major supermarkets aren't very good and don't taste at all like they do at a restaurant.

I have found curryhouse.co.uk which seems good for recipes, but doesn't sell any sauces.

Thank you for any suggestions.

Gonna be hard because restaurants all use different spice mixes, depending on the chef, and they will also be freshly ground.

Making a good curry from scratch takes half a day, take aways just do things as quickly and cheaply as possible.

www.spicesofindia.co.uk is good for curry pastes and sauces.

I also picked up a jar of Specially Selected Chicken Jalfrezi in Aldi last week, and it was surprisingly good for supermarket stuff - it's a jar plus a spice mix for the meat. I do like to make my own curries but to do it properly does take a long time.

There are a few restaurant groups around here, Shere Kahns and Abduls and others, which have had their sauces on the supermarket shelves, they're not as good as in the restaurants though.
