Just heard from a friend that your university will send you a letter of acceptance about a week before the results come out as they get them before everyone else to tell you if you have got in . Does anyone know if this is true??

I didn't know till the day I got my results mate. I had to check a thing online that my university had.

I think it's different for most universities.

I think this is correct but i'm not sure how long it will take. The universities do recieve your results so theres no need to ring them up or write to them with your results.

Personally I can't wait :D

I applied to a course that required 260 points as did a my mate Chris1712. He got his results from his BTEC course the other day and despite having less than half the amount of points required, they accepted him  . I've already got 150 from AS levels so going by how he got treated it should all be in the bag now :)

Bring on UWE.

The reason I'll be ringing up is to state my case and plead to be on the course as I love the look of it so much.

I got mine through about a fortnight or so ago, but then again I got my results about a month ago (IB) :)

Unis get your results early true, BUT they won't tell you, its only so they can do admin stuff and get letters out for the day, thats all

What your friend describes is rare; where Universities have their own notification system I’m fairly sure they tend to synchronise their release of acceptances with that of final results.
