Its a sad day, After reading the thread - Longest serving members http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18094676&highlight=longest+members&page=8 and the post to the OCUK Archives (posted by V0N) I took a trip down memory lane, only to find my old Extreme-XS case, which prompted me to have a look in my attic. Low and behold there it was gathering dust ! I excitedly took it out and dusted it off, all the fans working (just as they used to - like a hovercraft at 100% load).

The sad part being now I have got it down form the attic and brushed off the cobweds I have decided to let someone else have the same sort of joy I used to (also I don't think the mrs would appreciate the noise anymore). ahh the things we used to do for a decent overclock !! This badboy I am sure would give ANY aircooling system a run for their money (not quite as noisy as a Full Delta fan setup - I HAVE tried 6 Deltas and the enviromental health were on their way around :p ).

On a serious note - if anyone is after a piece of OCUK history please PM me before a stranger buys it on Fleabay without the appreciation of what it is :D It comes with a collectable OCUK case badge ;)

I still have mine but I have the rare Black version...old photo

Still use it today and its had 3 main systems in it over the years (purchased 2002). Case is the Globalwin YCC-802 and I had four YS-TECH 120MM fans plus 2x 80MM Vantec Stealths (silly really) and yes it was very noisy! - Harrier 'Jump Jet' :D

I was naive back then, as I thought I could put up with the noise - now older and wiser ;) I eventually got a Vantec Nexus fan controller to bring down the volts and noise.

Currently it has 4x 120MM Akasa Quiet fans with gold fan guards (as in photo) but is now empty as I've upgraded my now old main case from Akasa Eclipse 62 to Lian-Li PC-P50WB.

May have to part with it as I need the room...but I like the retro feel of it and because it was my first build

I still have a 802 up in the attic. Great case for time and still has some stuff that you dont find today (like a removable MB tray)!

While we are in retro mode, here are some pics of my first watercooling rig (2002) :)

Lots of antifreeze

Ahh.. my old swifty!

24v 6" industrial fans, they where quite noisy at 240cfm each.

Deadman, thats quite a reservoir on that one.
What was that setup cooling ??

I used my Extreme-XS to cool quite a number of systems, it kept me going until the FX55 finally came out and I did one serious system upgrade (when I go my current VapoLS - which is still going strong).

OMG!!! You could cool a V8 engine with that amount of water! Back in 2002 I would have thought it was very cool & different but why so much water mate? surely didnt need that much!

Hell no, it was massive overkill, but where is the fun in that :)

It was all a bit experimental in them days!

About to finally retire my Coolercase Tornado after 9 years! Still running all the original fans, although they are all 5 volted now. Replacing it with a Define R2 as my new TRUE Black won't fit in it and things are getting a little cramped.

Came across this old thread while looking for old pics of my Extreme-XS! Isn't it funny how well built these cases were that after almost 10 years now they are still going strong? Shortly after I got mine (back in the day!) I put another two 80mm fans in, then had a spare 5 1/4 " bezel piece fitted with two and three way switches to control all the fans depending on what you wanted to do. Fairly sure I managed to take an old 1Ghz Athlon up to 1.3Ghz with little stress due to this monster case!

Anyway, similar to Carlos above, I too would like to pass on my case to another newbie overclocker. I really dont want to put it in a skip, its too valuable! I'm in Dublin and happy for someone else to take it who would use it for what its for :)

Ahh the memories...

I had a Globalwin 802 aswell, however I chucked mine in a skip years ago, I decided to do some modifications when I started getting into overclocking and I drilled extra ventilation holes in the top and sides, it was a bit of a mess really, I tried to drill an [H] in the side ...you can imagine the forum that got me into all this in the first place :p ....well it didn't come out as planned, still ...I did use it like that for a while and then I decided to paint in black, but I decided to hand paint it ...well, you can imagine what that looked like. Suffice to say it's long gone, but it was the first case I really had a mess around with like that. I was building computers several years before this, but not with enthusiast type cases ...infact I don't really remember there being any, I tended to use Chenbro.

Anyway the 802 was latter replaced with the vastly more expensive and I might add totally unmolested Coolermaster ATCS 210 with green frosted door, which I do still have in the loft ...and it's spotless. I also had a Chieftec Dragon with my other computer in back then ...that was pretty damn loud with all the 80mm fans I had in it.

Still have my ATCS 210, one day I might sell it...at one point they were going for £200 secondhand in mint condition!
