Returning a Console to Store

Just because you have never come across such a problem, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. That also doesn't mean the guy is talking porkys.

I'm not saying he's 'telling porkys', but I think he is confused about what's happening. What is possible is it may have an issue with the DVD drive and it's struggling to read the game data. Halo 'streams' the data as you play (no loading screens), so if it's stuggling to read data it may be 'lagging' a bit as it waits to load the data. This isn't the same as 'running slow' in the way he's suggesting though.

Do you work in the manufacturing of Xbox 360 by any chance?

No, but I have lots of experience repairing them.

There's nothing wrong with the console... except my mate says it's running dead slow compared to his and the disc drive went grindy haywire when I was playing Halo. These aren't the reasons i want to return it, I just want to get my money back and upgrade my Graphics Card instead, because I spend most of my limited free time playing FFXIV on the PC :/

Im afraid I dont think these reasons will be enough to get a refund :( Best bet as said before is to either get a repair and just keep the Xbox or sell the Xbox as second hand Brand new. ----> AS NEW (dont want any knickers in twists)

lol what? Did you just invent a new phrase out of two phrases which are mutually exclusive?

i would say that's a contradictory statement rather than being mutually exclusive.

Mutually exclusive generally only applies to probability

Just spoken to my mate who works at game.

He says it is now policy to check every console returned, even trade in. 9 times out of 10, if you are convincing enough, the refund will be given without a test there and then. However, when it comes round to being tested and there is visably nothing wrong and the system works fine. They will contact you requesting the money back for the console. Or something like that.

If you are thinking of giving a false address, they refund via card which has to be registered to you and from the card it was purchased from.

Honestly, Ebay it in a few months once most have been sold from shops... Some nut will want one.
