Returning a pair of shoes

Canvas shoes? Is this a thing now?

Canvas shoes have been around forever.
Infact the Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star made of Canvas is probably one of the most iconic shoes in history.

As for the OP, I reckon you probably won't have any trouble provided its a large retailer. If its a small independent shop, I'd imagine they might take issue as it might be harder for them to sell or return the item and they will have less returns anyway.

I once ordered a pair of customised trainers from Nike ID and didn't like the colour of one of the panels. I was amazed how they happily just take the return, despite having a pair of frankentrainers that presumably they now have to flog elsewhere.

They're quite a big retailer called, Schuh. Hopefully they'll take them back.

Plimsolls? Is this ... is this a joke? Send them back with a covernote explaining that you mistakenly thought you were a primary school child in the 1980's.

They're a little more stylish than the plain black ones that kids in primary school wear.

I bet it's not by much.

I very much dislike what's going on with the bottom half of young males at the moment.

Plimsolls or loafers and no socks

Tightly rolled ankle cuffs

Elasticated ankle cuffs

Knee length skintight shorts

Espadrilles

Sort it out and start dressing like proper boys again. I do not want to see your ankles. They're not sexy.

YOU ARE NOT A LADY.

i did the same to sportsdirect lol

cleaned it and returned it, they showed some slight dirt lol so she called a supervisor/manager over and he hummed and pummed and said its ok lol

Take an objective look at the shoes and consider whether you would be happy if you ordered the shoes and the pair you have, in the state they're in, turned up.

If you'd honestly be happy, send 'em back, otherwise take the hit and wear fat socks :)

I think I'd be happy enough if I bought them. It's just this little mark that's on them, I doubt the shop assistant will notice it if I'm honest.

Also, the problem with wearing 2 socks is that there's still going to be far too much room.

YOU ARE NOT A LADY.

Or am I?

Yeah this is what I'm worried about; if he/she hums and pums and says no. Although, maybe they're a little tighter in sports direct, as I've witnessed this happen in there once.

There's nothing wrong with canvas shoes as long as they're converse, but ugh plimsolls? My eyes, my poor eyes! I just googled it, and I wish I could unsee what I saw.

Also, how did you dirty a new pair of shoes on your first trip out in them? Did you forget to avoid stepping in poo and other crap?

These are the exact ones:

I honestly don't know, there was a couple of grass stains on the rubber and a little bit of mud on the underneath and canvas. But I think the mark I've discovered is from where I've cleaned it. But I'll get it out somehow.

Are you literally mental? What does the rest of your wardrobe look like? Post pictures!

I'm not going to take pictures, but I can assure you there's many more stripy objects in there.

Do this.

A cover note of such awesomeness would surely guarantee an instant refund.

Can you describe your typical attire? What are you wearing right now?

I usually wear plain t-shirts with the logo visible somewhere, although I do have some which have a little more going on. If it's slightly chilly, I'd usually wear a cardigan of some sort over that. If the weather's not good and it's cold, raining etc, I'll wear a thick black jacket that's woolly on the inside.

In the event of the weather not being too warm, nor too cold, I'll wear one of my hoodies. Many of which have stripes on; some are striped with 2cm thick blue and white stripes, some are black and grey with 5cm stripes. Nearly all of my shirts have vertical stripes. However, this hasn't been done on purpose, I've only recently noticed it.

Now on to trousers. I'll usually wear a pair of jeans similar to the below:

However, they're slightly more baggier than those.

I should also inform you I have a stripy blue and black scarf.

At present, I'm wearing a pair of chequered shorts with nothing covering my torso. Do you require any more information? I do not know why I've put as much effort in to this post as I have.

Good lord, where is this thread going...

 Ok I see where!

Edit - just for the record, the plimsoles thing is killing me. I've spent the last 20+ years trying to block them out. The stuff kids wear today, geez.
