Bought a cheapo exercise bike from Argos yesterday. Put it together and the thing is total pants. Tension adjuster barely works and the pedalling motion is not smooth. Not sure if that is sufficient reason to take it back but the main issue being, the thing is now assembled and can't just be put back in the box. Has anyone else had experience of doing a return in these circumstances?

Oh and why is it, whenever you buy from Argos, the box nearly always looks as if it has been taped up in the shop? H'mmm probably because it's already been taken back one or more times and just cycled back for stock until some poor sap keeps it.

The irony of some of the responses isn't lost... :)

For now have dumped it in the garage.

The RRP was £80 but was on offer at £60.

Will probably just write it off and dig a bit deeper for something more upmarket. What appealed about this one was the compact nature as the newer magnetic resistance models are quite large and require a maths degree to programme.
