RGB fan hub?

Hi,
This is my first post on here, I've only just made my account and I'm looking for some help, no doubt I'll have more questions in the future. I bought my first desktop second hand late last year for the purpose of gaming, the first thing I did was buy a GPU as it didn't come with one.

A few months later I got a new case to put this all in and it came with 4 RGB fans, controlled through a hub thing that is plugged in to either a molex or Sata cable, I can't for the life of me remember which and I'm far too lazy to get up now and have a look.

The problem I'm having is these fans seem to be sentient. I don't use the RGB settings or set it to some big light show, I just like to have a simple light blue or a white throughout the case, but no matter how I set it they change on their own accord to some other random setting, all 4 fans at the same time. Because they all change in the same way at the same time I think the issue is the hub thing, so would I be right in saying that a simple fix would be to buy a better fan hub?

Money is really tight after this past year and ideally I want to buy a decent brand, but as cheap as possible. So if my idea is indeed the solution, what brand or fan hub things would be worth looking at?

Thanks for taking the time to read, not too sure but I think that covers what I'm getting at, and I hope I can finally get some answers to this light show that's plaguing my life.

First of all, it is important for you to look into which case and fan hub you have.

RGB is notoriously fragmented, there are little to no standardization between brands. It's not necessarily a matter of buying a different Hub, as that will likely make things more difficult. Plausibly, you'd have three options, little buttons on the side of the hub, a button integrated into the case which connects to the hub, and a motherboard input for the hub.

Start by looking up whether you have Asus aura, MSI mystic light, Corsair IQUE, Gigabyte Fusion, 4 pin, 3 pin or any other kind of RGB. Based on the brand and the manual, it should be obvious. Frankly if you can't go into any detail about what kind of setup you have, I'm not sure were going to beable to give you any advice beyond the most bland vague statements imaginable.

You could always just show up some pictures of the fans and hub that you have now along with connections, we can then have a look and give you some recommendations

Sorry for the late reply, it's been a busy weekend for me.
I'm fairly new to this PC building stuff and I've never had to mess with lighting in a PC or anything else for that matter so I've copied the lighting description from a site that sells this case and grabbed a couple of pictures from a quick web search.

  • PCB Hub - A PCB hub is included and can fit up to 10 devices, 8 fans and 2 LED strips. The PCB hub comes with a 4pin Molex for easy connectivity and a 3pin ASUS connector is also included connecting to your motherboard so you have the choice of how you want to control your LED's. - Description from a site that sells this case.
Here's an image of the Hub

My case is the CIT raider, the fans are these dual RGB things

Hopefully this is all the info needed to diagnose this problem, and hopefully someone can help.

Thanks again.

My motherboard is an old one, it's a Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-HD2. It takes FM2+ CPUs, DDR3 ram.
There wont be a rgb header on your motherboard its to old, not sure how you can connect your fan hub .

A diffrent fan hub mite be an option to give you better rgb options but unfortunately my knowledge stops there.

Yeah it's a pain, buying a new hub is what I'm thinking, but I don't want to be buying something that won't be any help for this problem. Thanks for your reply man

I don't have an RGB header either - Fortunately, Aquacomputer do fan and RGB control hubs that run directly off an internal USB header.
You could try a Quadro, Octo or one of the Farbwerk series.

Oh nice, thanks I'll have a look there later on. If anyone comments saying it could be worth trying a new hub I'll get one and see what happens with it. It's gotta be better than having settings constantly change on their own
