Right I've got internet connection coming in, cable, to a wireless router with 2 pcs wired and 1 laptop wireless.

Last night when i came in all of a sudden my pc is saying no cable connected but it is and was working fine earlier with no changes etc.

My other wired pc and the wireless netbook are both working fine.

When i connect my wire coming to my pc to my netbooks ethernet port that also works fine !

So im a bit lost, trying powering down the router many times, restarting pc, checking my ethernet thingy in device manager etc all seems fine.

My ethernet port is an onboard nforce jobby. (Asus p5ne-sli)

If you guys have anything else for me to try get this working it would be nice

TY :D

No option of rollback, I uinstalled it for vista to install it again automatically for me but still nothing

Turn the PC off. Then turn the PSU off with the switch at the back (if it does not have one then turn it off at the mains). Leave it for a minute. Turn it back on and retest. I'd be interested if this fixes your problem as I had something similar a few weeks back as a result of a power cut. The ethernet port was dodgey until I fully powered down then restarted.
Obviously, also try using the cable modem direct to your PC bypassing the router.

How very very odd.

Jaybee you legend it worked, just powering down my pc fully and back up...

How strange.

Anyways 1 internet to you sir.

Connected your PC to the netbook with a crossover cable to check and eliminate your MB as a problem?

Your router is ok, your cable is ok, your other pc's are ok - now check your pc.
Does your LAN port have a orange LED indicating a linked ethernet connection? The other LED should how orange for 100Mbps or green for 1Gbps connection.

If it's alive - reinstall the chipset driver from your cd or the one from asus downloads. Remember your Ethernet is an Asus custom nvidia + marvell mix and a typical nvidia.com driver may not see it.

No problems mate. I spent about half a day diagnosing mine with driver rollbacks etc etc. I even restarted several times. Then for some reason decided to fully power down and switch the PSU off as the power cut made the PC shut down harshly obviously. Seems to have done the trick. I also found it weird. Glad it helped. :)
