Ridge Racer 6 help please

Hello,

I am playing throught Ridge Racer 6 at the moment and enjoying it but got a few questions.

I am up to the part on the map where races 37 - 33 - 24 - 17 are in a line down the screen.

How much longer do i have to go to get any achievements, already unlocked a few class 1 cars and just unlocked a class 2 car. When can i expect my first achievement ?

Also races 01 - 03 - 04 - 05 have what looks like little sticks on top of the icons. Anyone tell me what they are ?
