Ridge Racer Unbounded coming 2012 to PC's

I used to hustle the original 2 player Ridge Racer arcade cabinet.

Never beaten. ;)

Game of its time though, there are far better racers out now and I dont see where they can go with it.

so you can guess its a Ridge Racer/Flatout smash-em-up hybrid!!!![/url]
I really hope there not going make this Ridge Racer a smash-em-up....:(

Ridge racer always been about how well you can drift around the corners :)
I remember spenting hours and hours playing the first ridge racer on the first playstation when it was released

Shopto.net have the PC version instock & are processing pre-orders now apparently. I am going to wait for decent player reviews as unsure about this game on PC.

Minimal PR same release date on PC for US + EU (which is a little weird nowadays unless its a total dud). Edge just gave the console version a review score of 9 which we all know could mean anything & the review is vague at best. All the HD media shown to date makes it look like a Flatout Ultimate Carnage clone with the RR branding attached to it some of the levels shown are literally 1:1 ripped from Flatout UC

Steam had 4 DLC cars up for pre-order in US only as well but not other regions the lack of PR makes me think this will not be all that & Namco are trying to limit the damage to early sales

Bugbear did a great job on Flatout UC its still a decent looking PC arcade racer but this game is puzzling me more than anything else if it were excellent on PC surely it would be geting a lot of pre-order buzz/pr  There is virtually none & it was delayed at the last minute a few weeks ago to now which adds to the uncertainty :(

Ridge Racer Revolution was one of my favourite game on PS1, laoved the atmosphere and the music and the crazy drifts. COmpleted all of its challenges including getting the Angel Car:)

Nowadays though - just cant imagine how it would compete on the crowded PC racer market - NFS Shift Ferrari, pCars, GT3, AC, rF2...

Played this on 360 and it's fairly dire.

They've clearly aimed it at the new-gen of gamers who only care about what they can smash into and blow up.

That's what I sadly suspected. The global release date is a big give away to limit bad word of mouth it will not be well reviewed as well along with the shady delay 3 weeks ago with no announcement as to why & Steam UK do not even have the game up yet as a pre-order even though it uses Steamworks apparently.

All the media I have seen makes this look like a rebranded Flatout Ultimate Carnage (which was 4 years ago an excellent game & still looks pretty decent today save your money & buy that instead its real cheap now).

Have to agree, i got bored after about 20 minutes, past pad over to my 5 year old who loved smashing into other cares.

Used you to loved the Ridge racer games on PS1. The same style game with similar music but with modern PC graphics would be brilliant. The later games in the series had decent single player longetivity which I hope they don't skimp on in this game. Havn't bought a decent arcade racer since NFS:Hot Pursuit.

I wouldn't say no to a pre-Paradise Burnout style game or something like Flatout:UC, they were excellent games. IF they do it well, I've no problems with it not being like Ridge Racer. I much preferred things like Destruction Derby, the original NFS or Sega Rally going back to that era.
