Bah, I have just been incredibly frustrated by the needless and ridiculous bureaucracy of Student Finance England (SFE).
I have been very fortunate and have secured some financial support from the firm I will be working for in the future - however, I need written confirmation from the SFE to say that they cannot offer any maintenance money (I already know they cannot).
After attempting to register, I was informed that I was already on the system but had to ring customer services to obtain my log-in and password. I was informed that I was indeed already on the system but needed to confirm some details - no problem.
They confirm my identify and give me my log-on, but then tell me I need to confirm my email address that I used when submitting my UCAS application in 2005. I had a think and proceeded to real off every email address I have ever used - none of them were accepted. I was then told I would have to apply by hand for the grant since I didn't have this information
I proceeded to tell them that they had just confirmed my identity and that they could surely just tell me what the email address was, but they refused and insisted that I print off a bunch of forms and sent it via post.
Just, how ridiculous! I'm now going to have to spend some time refilling out all of my details again (including passport and national insurance details, apparently) because of this.
Has anyone else faced similar frustration?
