I'm going to Riga for my cousin's stag doo and was wondering if anyone could reccomend me places to go and sites to see.

Also was wondering what the people are like out there?

Went there for a mates bday in December, had a great time! Was meant to be there for 1 night but missed the flight back so had to stay another night

Didn't do much sight seeing, just went around the city centre and got plastered! Skyline bar (bar on top of a hugh office block) is well worth a visit! Just go wondering around the city centre and you'll find some good places.

Don't go out of the City Centre though, it's a real dump, and ignore the sections you go through travelling from the airport to the City, it's an eye opener

People are...well.....let's say that politeness and customer service are not high on the agenda

Some good nights out to be had, we spent a lot of time in the big hotel where the skyline bar mentioned above is. We were there last March and it was closed for renevation, so it might be open now (the skyline bar that is).

We spent most of our time in the casino of the hotel, very nice casino.

Good place to eat - find TGI fridays. WHen standing at that intersection go down the most empty looking way and there is a nice restaurant down there called 1604 or something (some variant of four numbers).
