RIP - The Godfather of Soul

RIP JB, and in heaven, everyone was woken up with a WWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW I FEEL GOOD HUH !!!!!!

am gutted. The phrase legend gets thrown around far far too much these days. But James Brown was nothing short of a legend.

RIP.

RIP.

What a legend.

Glad I saw him while I had the chance, even though it's not really my sort of music (he was a support act for the Chilis).

I saw him supporting the Chili Peppers. He was complete crap, don't know what all the fuss is about!

Still RIP nonetheless.

Came as a shock to me this morning as well as had no idea he was ill (suppose he hadn't been ill many days though) but pneumonia is a nasty thing to get when you're old.

Glad I got to see the great man once (In 2004 when he supported the chillis) and he was a real showman and had a HUGE band like 20+ people!! God knows how he used to pay all of them!

RIP godfather

I think he has been on a downward drug fuelled spiral for a while now, but that doesnt stop his earlier work being something inspirational to us all.

RIP to a great man.

JB has gone as well! Too many greats leaving us in recent months.

Nobody 'got down' like the Godfather of Soul. Thanks for the funk James. :(

I think for a 70 odd year old, at the time, he was dancing and jigging with a style like no other. When he was in his prime he was bloody fantastic. When he danced you could see and feel the rhythm passing through his body, he was just exceptional. His voice was sooo good as well. So passionate and soulful. Each to their own obviously, but I think he's easily one of my favorite musicians of all time.

Massive massive loss and I was genuinely gutted when I heard the news. This is one of those things that I'll always remember at Christmas time, James Brown had a huge influence on most of the music that I listen to and I owe him a big bowl of gravy. Peace and restyness Mr. Brown. GOOD GOD YAAAALL.

Here's James in his prime. Before the government replaced his testicles with those of a bull :p ;) .
