Ripped off from ebay seller...anyone else had probs?

This is unfortunately the attitude of a lot of car part sellers. It seems that a huge proportion of people within the car industry are unfortunately morons who do not think that terms and conditions apply to them.

Just return it via a paypal dispute, you will win, he will be rude to you. Its just the way people selling car parts are. Move on and buy another one :)

I've found the listing and tbh I would've been wary from the start. One picture, described as 'in working condition' which can mean anything and called it 'AUDI A6 6 CD CANGER'.
Can only wish you good luck!

Yep I was also wary but when you look at the other changers, none of them have more than 1 picture. I just hoped it would all be good and relied on a bit of good ol fashioned trust. As for working condition, he could say it was sold as a pretty LED display... :(

Already bidding in another. Fingers crossed this one is ok :/ The problem is, they are £400 new and no way am I spending that for something I would rarely use.

Exactly this, Just raise it with paypal, and just keep on it Greg, they will refund you.

I have filed a dispute bro. Shame really, as now I will be cautious of even the genuine decent folk who sell on ebay. So many horror stories.

bits_an_bob are scammers and after filing the dsipute I got his name which is "Akhtar Zamir" :(

Dont be, pay via paypal and as a buyer it is the safest place to buy anything. You cannot lose and are totally protected.

My fiancée has had a lot of problems with buyers, who will buy an item for 99p then complain about the quality. Even had a few submitted to ebay who have always ruled in our favour.

Also never ask for a return address. Ebay will give it to you.

If he was clever he'd email you the wrong address, you'd send it there. Then when paypal/ebay ask you to confirm delivery to the registered address they give you, you'd be screwed.

Just an update.

Dear shazz999,Send back item to [address]. I will then give you refund. I have no energy disputing.- bits_an_bob Reply in your email program or through My Messages

Dear bits_an_bob,Just to let you know, I have opened up a case with the resoloution center.- shazz999

Thanks for your advice guys, it is appreciated. I am glad he had no energy lmao. :D

Don't send it back yet, let the ebay resolution rule in your favour. You are skipping a step and relying on him being honest refunding you once he receives the item. Of course the risk is lessened when using a full tracked method of delivery but you need to be careful and protect yourself as much as possible.

As you have already left him negative feedback then he is a) going to be pretty annoyed and b) already had the feedback left so anything he does to you now is insignificant.

Also, you do realise this could be an entirely honest mistake on his part which probably would not have justified negative feedback, right? Just because you have demanded a refund doesn't mean you should not follow official procedures via eBay.

Can you not use an mp3 player or usb stick with your head unit? Just thinking it might save you some money and do the same job.

Glad you got it sorted anyway and good on you for leaving the negative. It should stop him re listing it.

As far as an honest mistake goes, I say rubbish. If I was in his shoes, I would have accepted the return of the item with no problems. He sells parts from smashed up vehicles (breakers) and he never checked the item was working. If he had accepted the return of faulty goods, I would not have left 'negative' feedback.

I have no sympathy for this guy, as he showed me none.

This is my plan but the software needs to be updated on my car and the only way to do this is with a CD changer :( I will be getting an AMI unit also.
