Hi guys,

Recently bought an X-Fi Fatal1ty (insert exciting name here) sound card and, to my ears at least, it's a great sound card. Now, one of the reasons I went for this particular model is that it came with the front panel, handy for sticking odds and ends into without having to haul the case about, and a remote (RM-1800) for doing things with. However, the scroll wheels on the remote have stopped working, in fact they stopped right about just after they started working. They control such things as the 24-bit crystaliser and stuff. Having done some research I read that apparantly the new driver Creative released o longer supports these wheels so I went ahead and ripped out anything softwareish with the name Creative attached to it and installed everything again only to find that they still don't work.

What I'm wondering is has anybody else had this problem and had any success fixing it?

It's not that I'll use them that often it's just nice to think that a product I paid a large amount of money for might actually work properly.

Aye, so I've heard but I shouldn't have to pay for third party software to make something work that should work out of the box.

Hmm, I'll try to update the drivers again from the creative web site, maybe the volume keys will stop working then as well or hopefully I might get lucky.

Thanks helmutcheese.

Thats not the case, its some driver for the soundcard that messes up buttons, sure is bad but msot know Creative = good hardware and bad support of bad software, all I know is some driver or apps fix for my 30GiG ZVM made them work again, but that 3rd party app can replace Creatives bloatware remote software and do so much more, donate $10 after you test and its yours for life with updates every so often, least your buttons will all work and you can change them about or dissable them.
