I didn't find any threads for this, so I hope this is O.K.
I am quite a fan of the Titanic...no, not the movie, the actual ship that hit the iceberg in 1912 and sunk.
I think they did a good job on the movie, but I am more into the actual documentaries.
Anyone else, like myself, fascinated with the Titanic and ships in general?

Are you replying with sarcasm, just for the sake of replying, or does anyone out there like to talk Titanic and ships?

Bit of an icy silence in here.

On topic... isn't it hms?
I have always wondered what happened to its sister ship, the olympia i think it was called... saw a model of it once.
I certainly have an interest in it.

Edit: Heres the wikipedia if anyones interested. It is rms, but what does that stand for?

Amazing ship for its time.

I'd be interested in what you (OP) finds so fascinating about the ship..might also help keep this thread on topic :)

Thanks for sharing that. It is one of my favourite photos of the ship. It sure was amazing for its time.

I believe that RMS stands for "Royal Majesty Service"...sorry, Joe, I just saw the rest of your post now. :)

Thanks :)
I think the sister ship was Olympic... can't find out what happened to it tho...
As far as i know it was identical.

I goofed on the RMS, it stands for Royal Mail Service. I confused it with Her Majesty. :D Didn't the Olympic get torpedoed? I seem to remember hearing something like that.

Titanic, Olympic and Britannic if my memory serves me correctly.

The Britannic blew up and sunk if I remmeber, someone will post more information I am sure.

Good on you, Yewen, and you beat me to it. Thanks for the links, guys.
Steve, that is a very fascinating link! :)
