Road Accident - Advice

As far as I'm concerned, the driver was completely in the wrong, but I'm not looking to make a meal out of it. At most, it would be nice to have the costs of my bike repairs covered, which wouldn't be a huge amount. I'm just glad we both came out OK, it could've been A LOT worse. Regardless, I didn't really bring this up at all.

It says it there.

Just because something wasn't mentioned doesn't mean it didn't happen. The OP does not specifically say "He did not offer to pay for the repairs to my bike" so I don't get your confidence on that issue.

Read the thread.
You are making a lot of assumptions and then call me Mr Strawman.

Here's a clue -
If the driver had offered to pay for the bike repairs then this thread wouldn't have existed.
This is where you say "Oh yeah"

If you'd read it thoroughly then you'd realise he hadn't.

Owned :D

OP: My mum was in a similar, but much worse situation. She was exiting a roundabout, when someone not paying attention drove into the side of her and flipped her over the central reservation. My mum was upside down, stuck in a car and covered in blood. What did the other person do? Get out of her car, perfectly fine, walk up to my mum's car and scream at her that it was my mum's fault.

Long story short, the other person lost their license and ended up paying a large amount of compensation to my mum, who still has back problems to this day from it. Didn't stop the other person from lying about the incident constantly, and saying the CCTV footage was wrong.

Some people are just ****s.

No it doesn't. It says what he wants, not what has been offered.

OK, let me re-phrase the question....

OP, have you asked the guy for the money for the reapirs?

"Regardless, I didn't bring it up at all"

This means that repairs were not mentioned at all during the conversation. Which means that the other guy did not offer to pay for the repairs. Can you see it now?

Just to clear that one up, no I have not yet. In fact, during our brief conversation he started to mention the damage to his car, at which point I began to wrap up the conversation.

That's horrendous. In that kind of situation I'd happily see someone go down for all they're worth, but thankfully as you say I'm in nowhere near that kind of state.

And just to verify, this thread wouldn't have existed if he had offered to pay for the repairs?

Glad you're ok OP, but it's a shame your thread gets derailed by bickering children.

They should learn to read.
If there's one thing that gets my back up is people debating in a thread when they don't read it.

Partly, I think the main reason for my OP was the Mother's statement that the case had been closed without me knowing, and my wanting to verify its credibility.

However, don't for one moment think I'm not grateful for everyone's advice thus far, regardless of which side it's from (although essentially you're all on the same side here!)

I hope you get your bike repair paid for at the very least..not everyone would care about the other party in an accident as you have, particularly when you were the smaller more easily flattened person and vehicle combination.
