Hi.

Well there is minimal wind today so I was thinking about taking a longer journey home, thing is, on the way there is a gravel track, well sort of, just smooth track with lots of stones on it, would it be abit too risky/ careless to take a road bicycle onto this?

I take my road bike with 25cc tires onto a chipseal type bike path with a little loose stuff on it the 4 days of the week I commute by bike. It depends on the kind of gravel, but if its anything larger than peas AND deeper than one layer; I would avoid it.

Hmmm, I'll just go on the road then, dont want to risk it.

I was at a junction today and I started to speed up as it was in the middle of town wanted to get out was loads of traffic and I must have been going 15mph+ and went into a small pot hole, could not see it, heard this weird squeak as I went into it and thought damn I damaged my wheel, lukily nothing happened and it was fine, I never realised roads that were fairly bumpy, like road that had all those stones put on or something to slow people down, when they've bedded in it slows me down so much compared to a nice and smooth road.
