Why don't they send you the v3 model though since they released it to cure known issues in the v2? Counter productive as your new v2 very well might be as sketch as the last and they end up having to replace this one as well!

I dont know they had v3? whats the differences with it? i just assumed this was the latest. Be good to know so i can email and ask about it re:warranty

I'm pretty sure there's only a v2. v1 had issues with water ingress to the battery, which caused the unit to lose connection. v2 was released with a fix for that.

Ah. The power meter bit on my original Stages was like in this pic, but the one they sent me back is rounded on the battery compartment.

As far as I know (which isnt much, to be fair) there were 2 updates:
-first version
-first version with updated battery door (or maybe just different seal on door)
-second version with redesigned battery compartment.

so, technically 2 versions, but 3 different configurations.

How much does cold affect your leg muscles?
I went out for a ride last night A>B. I've done it before, last october. I got loads of PRs this time around, but overall was slower (average) - due to slowing down in the last 20% or so of the ride. Was -2 and my legs were cold and/or feeble.

Don't forget to keep your torso warm too. If your body & organs get cold them the priority will be for blood to rush back from your extremities (arms & legs) to keep them warm.

Also worth considering your breathing and energy levels too. I think riding in the very cold will always be sub optimal but could be wrong...

which is why the temperature gets cranked right up for indoor events.
Bunch of pansies! Amirite? ;)
Thanks man.
Saddle is scuffed but OK, carbon on one wheel has a scuff with the QR ruined. Left shifter scuffed. Frame not a mark on it so I have been very lucky indeed.
Need replace the helmet and my arm/leg warmers as they are all wrecked.
Would all hurt a lot less if it wasn't in a stupid little sportive haha.
Might go back to hospital tomorrow for double check. Got ambulance'd after crash and xray all clear but something aint right.
Amazed the frame escaped with all of that list! Then again the cleat falls and ice falls I've had on mine the damage has all been to bar tape, mudguards, RD and QR's. My frame has picked up so many dinks from stones/debris but nothing larger, thankfully! :)
Just looking at Strava... Last week was my busiest week of riding yet. 115 miles of commuting plus a metric century at the weekend made for a total of 177 miles.
Great stuff, fatigue caught up with you much? I know it was last week then you went and did the metric lol

I've got a pass this saturday so have a couple of choices, either the usual CoB Shop Social (30 miles, fast pace) or the NFTO Intro Ride (50 miles, supposed easy pace). Very tempted by NFTO as not really ridden with them yet (just a couple of times with guys that do). As it's an 'easy ride' along a fairly flat route (bar the 1 big climb I've not done before!) I'm thinking it'll be an easy way to hit my mileage target for the week, but it does mean missing out on 2 of the Strava segment goals (climbs) I had set myself before the end of the month...:(

Would be a good first roll out on my new wheels too (taking them home tonight & swapping tyres etc over).

I'm consistently 5 mins slower over a 16 mile commute when it's cold than when its 10 degrees or above. Admittedly that's not -2 cold but anything under 5 and I am slower. That does often align with wetness which slows me down somewhat (lots of those bobbly slabs on my cycle path route which are lethal in the wet)

I've just swapped from winter to summer bike (CAAD12 to Scott CR1) and blimey, it's like riding an armchair! I know the CR1 has "relaxed geometry" and the CAAD is racier but it feels really disconcerting - descending feels really unsafe in comparison. I was sure the saddle had dropped but distance to the pedals and floor is correct. Makes me want take the last 1.5 spacers off the Scott and slam the stem, but it's current position got me through JOGLE with no issues. But aero is king....

I'm doing ok this week. Bit of odd muscle soreness in my legs, which I suspect is because my position on my new bike isn't quite right. I need to replace the saddle, which might help. The stock one is uncomfortable and creaks sooooo much.

Well..that was an incredibly wet ride. DHB rain jacket is still doing a good job despite being pretty knackered by this point. Still, the rest of me is drenched.

Decided to take a look at my bike since my crash (ribs almost healed now) and it appears I have inherited a mountain bike and not a road bike with the amount of crap that was on it!

Will be replacing the Crankset tomorrow and putting on the new chain as well after cleaning up the bottom of the bike while the cranksets off.

You're riding the CAAD12 as a WINTER bike?! :o:confused::eek:

Not much wrong with that cassette, with a good scrub and some degreaser it'll look almost as new as the new one! :)

There was a bit of wear on the cogs and since i didn't exactly keep things greased up properly before i thought it best just to do a complete change over and look after it a bit better. Plus it gives me a bit of practice for changing parts over as well. :)

Just had to rescue them from a hailstorm. Forgot I left them on a sleeper in the garden.

I'd agree on giving them a clean and keeping that cassette. If it is going to be stored a coat of GT85 or similar wouldn't hurt.

Meant to be doing a practice ride tomorrow after work with the guys at work who are doing the sportive in June. We were forecast a thunder storm but now just high winds.

Practising calls has been mentioned. I thought we were just going to bumble our way through but it seems we are going all pro drafting and stuff ;) Knowing my luck I'll take out the company director as I forget I'm not solo and weave round a pot hole :p

Can't fit my shiny new wheels as after agreeing that I should have had a spacer sent with the wheels it appears that it is being sent tied to a sloth with no sense of direction
