After selling my Canyon AL and Boardman I decided to invest the money back into bike stuff and tied with the fact i'm trying to get a bit more serious about my cycling performance and after reading what seems like hundreds of reviews i decided to go for a Kickr. Coming from and old Minoura B60, I have to say this thing is amazing. I had never been on a smart trainer before and even after reading all the reviews i couldn't really get my head around how these things work/feel.

Yesterday I subscribed to Trainer Road again and loaded up a Sufferfest Fight Club video. Holy crap, it was amazing, the intervals where you have to match the power is insane. Its like witch craft. I I was on 198 watts then i had to sprint and go to 270 watts then a bit of climbing, then some TT all where you have to match the power. I had trouble getting the right gears to match the cadence required but power was ok until about 75% of the way through then i could feel myself fatiguing.

Id done this video before on my old trainer and it was a totally different experience on the Kickr.

I'm looking forward to trying Zwift on it over the weekend to see how it replicates the gradients and going up/down hills.

Dude, it's Spring. Ride your bike outside.:p

I know! hah but as we're closing our office, i no longer get to ride back from work (32 miles which was my mid week training) and im not sure how the relocation is going to effect things so mid week turbo it is:D

That looks the nuts! What did it cost you? Would be a sweet addition to the den! :p
£870 after cash back, i cant believe i actually spent that much on a turbo but if its used as much as i think it will be then its not to bad, lucky i got about £1500 for the two bikes so the change will be going towards the new Canyon. The thing is amazing, it has totally changed my perception of turbo training.

Interested to hear how you find them after some hours/miles compared to the Pro team.

Tried them on for the first time today and did 30 mins in the, as was just testing my bike for tomorrow.

Size wise, (I bought medium after being told to size down compared to PT range 189cm, 80kg, 32") I would say they are smaller than a Castelli Large, and definitely smaller than a Rapha pro team L.

This is mainly an issue with the straps for me, once they are on you don't notice them, but they are tight to get on. The front of the bib sits a little higher than the pro teams, I think there's an extra inch or two or material here compared.

Good leg compression, some people have complained about the rubber leg grippers flapping, but I had no issues and my legs are normal sized. I'd say they have small legs or bought too large a size.

Comfort seems good, helps by them being tight and holding them in place. Have to wear plain kit tomorrow so going to wear them for 110km and report back. So far I would recommend them, more comfortable than my Morvelo or Castellis for similar price.

Anyone tempted by the weekend £900 deal on the PX RTD-80 Disc SRAM Rival 11?

Looks like a very nice deal. Shame there doesn't appear to be any mudguard mounts though.

looks like a great price again, dropped a link to my bro because he's crying about the rt-90 with sram force saying it will get stolen etc :o

Aha.. surely any bike over £300 or so has similar chance of being stolen.

That reminds me... saw a tweet about an attempted bike mugging by two pedestrians on Leith Hill the other day :/

Pay day... Not too much in the way of spending, as I'm saving for a power meter, but I have ordered a third Torm jersey. I've already got a short sleeved one and a long sleeved one. I've gone for another short sleeved one, so we'll probably have another 6 weeks of winter now...

Can confirm.. It just snowed again in London.

Still haven't got over this blasted cold... really hope I don't have to stay in on a long weekend. Only 25 miles for the week so far too. Urgh! :(

New rubber (Conti GP 4 Season) landed this morning to bung on tonight prior to the TdY Sportive on Sunday.

I don't think you should have something so modern in your grand sitting room next to your fantastic drinks cabinet. Please post me the KICKR to immediately resolve this problem! ;)

Fantastic choice, you lucky guy! If only I could justify the cost...

At that price he could almost buy a second - a spare for when he breaks/loses the first! ;)

Goodluck & looking forward to how they (and you) cope with 4+ hours in the saddle! ;)
Yeah, caad12 was only released last year, I think. Caad10, maybe? They were all the rage a couple of years back.
Phew, not just me going mad then! Think the CAAD12 is even available with discs... Meaning you could make it into a really viable 'winter bike', although a very expensive option with alternatives like the Synapse.

Goodluck & enjoy. If it's your first experience with the 4 Seasons, go careful! One of the first rides on mine (after Mitch Pro4's) I was chasing back on the group and took a couple of tight corners I knew and nearly put my head in the hedge at the apexes! The grip is superb! :D

Fitted my RS81's last night, they are damn light! Shaved close to 1kg since the last time I weighed my bike (has also had a tyre change since then). Under 8kg now! Not bad for alu! :D

Which rim depth did you go for in the end, I take it you got the lightest ones? I've used mine all through the winter on the Ribble and they are still in great condition, Ive been really pleased with them.

Bloody hell I've been waiting to buy brake pads for ages. Buy them and they put up a sale code...... Argfffhhhh

Lol :/

Mine are okay for the moment but I should probably stock up as in the past I've ended up having to go a week with extremely dodgy brakes whilst waiting on a delivery.

The 24's as the 35's didn't have the same website price anomaly as the 24's (got them on Ribble for £263 not £363!). Unfortunately! :(

None of you keep spare pads around?! I've usually got 2 or 3 new sets floating around (and no, not in my saddle bag before you comment!) :p
