Robbing a bank - hostage legality question

I'm surprised this sort of thing hasn't been used for a film storyline... survivors guilt would be a huge issue for the released hostage and the mental anguish would be horrendous. Pep it up a bit, make it a psychological thriller where the bad guys turn the tables and put the onus on the released hostage to save the rest etc...

I want 5% of all box office takings...

Your own life should be more valuable to you than someone elses.

I wouldn't risk my life to save someone elses, but obviously I would want someone to risk their life to save mine if the roles were reversed. This is a pretty normal reponse, I'm not sure why you're rolling your eyes at me.

I would happily give my own life up if it prevented a child being subjected to pain and death. I think a lot of people would feel similarily.

No to mention the usual family etc.

That is very much your opinion. If I had kids I would most certainly say that their life would be more valuable to me than my own. I would also say that many people put their own personal safety and lives on the line as part of everyday life for someone else. The army and emergency services do this regularly. Therefore I think your assertion has to many exceptions to be a rule.

Your family is you in some sense though, losing them would have more of a negative impact on you than the fear of dying, this just isn't true of random people in a bank though so my point still stands

Feel, do. They are pretty different words. I can guarantee you would sacrifice your life to save some kid you don't know from pain.

What if it wasn't a bank, but the ISS? And what if the robbers were the Jamaican bobsled team?

These are all good questions OP. The truth is out there.

'ard lads!! robbing banks!!

back in 1977 in Serbia I was haulin' someadawhitestuff off da' ships, big back muscles to carry dem big phat 'uns, I was doing a three-eighter and went to KFC next was a Serbain bank and 3 lads pretty stocky were takin' hold but this wasnt thier job it would have been ours.

Wont bore you all but I slammed all three with by phat 'un and carried the 100$k out the bank to my car (pug 106) and big lad you know at the wheel can't fit in proper, driving all over town for da udder man. Was a cop who I paid off to keep shut.

It's a dangerious road but it's not the only road.

This is amazing.

How's it amazing it's a line of work. Over in Serbia there's a gym on almost every street from what I was told and back then they were even illegal but huge till they were made legal. Everyone there is huge in size due to culture and heavy steroid use. Even the homeless would found hitting the gym and some Winstrols (steroids) than food or any substance abuse.

I left in 1981 but since then nothing has changed, gangs controled the steroid flow and 41% of the populality used steroids illegally, I think in the end they made some legal to discourge gang crime, since they made more money than other "drugs". I spoke with a DDU and most addicts in there used drugs like Heroin/opiates (even homeless) not for the rush but the shear pain relief, stimulent use was bigger among girls but was used for weight lost mainly and "going that extra mile". Alcohol use is next to no problem though over there, infact out of everyone they are the most looked down on. The major problem was benzodiazapine 27% of ( illict 'roid users used in the past 2 month) ghb use was at 61%( illict 'roid users used in the past 2 month) for sleeping.

BTW the population and %%'s are based on M and F but 25 year+

I think the goverment need to sort a better system to help gym users being 61% of the population, this 61% includes EVERYONE. Gym use ONLY means a legitamite gym and not home gyms or undergrond gyms. There are more and mroe underground ones growing and they aren't 16/18+ but have 0 regulation and often where people aquire what they can. Some legit gyms allow children for sports and cardio.

In the past 6 years, there was a huge increase in squats and homelessness, these poorer people would fund thier 'riods then steal tyres from buses and usually would hold aboive head and do squats this is known now as "gym thieft auto" usually takes 30-60 seconds for 2-3 people to hold the bus up and one tyre would be removed and if theres enough time they would brick under it and do the rest. This is why the bus fares are more and more pricey.

Food is usually too expensive to sustain someone on 4k+ cal aday. Hence why it's a problem but most stick with super basics.

This behavour is slowly more and more popular in Columbia, Hungary and Greece

in 1978 Dejan Jeorg who was a user of Coca leaf that he chewed throughout the day to perform he was stable at 7k kcal/day and also used ghb/midazolam to sleep, he was a huge roid user and spent 80% time working out, sleeping or eating. His family (like most) were second priority. He had an arrest out for him after being unable to eat (supply problem) he killed and eat a whole horse raw with his hands (this is what banned the coca leaf as it was believe in the news that was the problem), being this hungry is known as "hungry horse". This guy was found to of fled into the EU through Hungry then to the Netherlands, it was in the UK he was driving wrecklessly at the wheel in a Landrover, "Metropolitan Police" then found this guy was also known under a different name but it clear he was a match chances would be, he was known for drug smuggling of believed 12kg Amphetamine (mean 81%) and Cocaine 1.2kg (mean 89%) however he managed to get away and somehow he left the country dispite him being blacklisted from leaving (1974 he left the UK). Due to the situation armed police were then sent. His landrover came to a stop at a dead end and behind was 3-4 std police cars and following was a van for arrest however he was aggressive to them, walking towards them, he threw punches at the first set of police, then the rest used weapons (9 police) he ripped the door from a police car to make it even and for the audience of this paper we cannot disscuss what then happened just that the rest of police were left injured and he drove to the boarder, towards france, at this point there were guns, it was over.

........

Then he shouted something probably Serbian at them but bullets would miss or just hit him, stunning him. Even the armed police knew this would be a match, he found cars in the road one was a takky looking pugeot 205 andpicked it above his head and lunched it, knocking 3 armed officers down, then he ran aqquiring all guns - there was a huge firefight lasting 2hrs - 81 police men were in hospital and 22 died, 30 got off lucky. This guy left into France - a whole EU lookout has been enforced with shoot on sight - Anyone who MAY know information contact Crimestoppers - reward is 2mi euro
