Rock Star Brought Luck To Italians
Del Piero called upon Oasis' songwriter to be their lucky charm.
The Azzurri's win over Germany and France respectively might have come from a great team-work of the Italians, but for those who believe that luck plays an important role then they have to thank Noel Gallagher for the Italians’ success in this World Cup.
The English rock star was called by his mate, Alessandro Del Piero, to watch the semi-final and final, and duly 'Pinturicchio' scored in both games.
Gallagher then went with Italian team back to their hotel after the final to celebrate with the Azzurri, where he was lent an acoustic guitar by the Juventus captain and gladly played a few songs for the players from his band's repertoire.
On their return to Italy, music-lovers Del Piero and Materazzi went to watch the Rolling Stones in Milan, where Mick Jagger lauded the Italians for winning the World Cup. The two players then joined the band on stage and received an ovation from the sixty thousand fans.
