We have had a few guys come around to look at our old leaky flat roof. None of them recommend EPDM. Am I missing something? I thought, and still do, that EPDM was superior in every way. Is this just cowboys wanting to chuck a load of new felt on my roof and not do a proper job?
We had one guy who didnt even seem to know what a warm roof was. This was a job I was hoping to palm off to someone else, but looks like roofers around here are not worth it.
Its not that I was not willing to pay for a proper job.

From experience, EPDM attracts cowboys who promote the materials performance, we had a real poor experience with a domestic installation going wrong. Unless it’s a straightforward installation with no or little detail you need a reputable roofer with a good track record.
Our architect has stoped including in his specs as he says more and more builders have trouble with it - We ended up with a product called Sarnfill , by Sika. Funny enough the architect had no issue recommending a good insurance back 3 layer of felt application.
Strange how products dip in and out of fashion.
