Is it just me or should rooney be a bit more selfish and take some more shots himself, he seems to get into a lot of positions this season just outside the box and has almost always setup someone else for the goal - thats not to say he isnt doing a good job, id just like him to get some goals and with his right foot, shootng a bit more could be the answer.#

thoughts?

Have you seen his shooting? Couldn't hit a cows ass with a banjo.
He is more than happy to play a pathetic little flick or try something stupid than blast one down the keepers throat.
If there was more competition for the striking positions Rooney would have been benched by now, he has been awful all season with very few stellar performances. He is a man without confidence and thats led to his lack of shooting.

However, I think he will turn it around tomorrow, or atleast I hope so because he is taking up valuable space that could be better utilised at the moment.

He is probably one of the worst starting eleven finishers in the premiership, at least once a match he will slice a ball 10 foot high and wide of the goal. That said he is a great footballer in other respects and when he gets it right can produce some magical goals.

well surely its a good thing for united that rooney hasn't played anywhere near his best this season. There 6 points ahead in the leauge with a game in hand, and arguably one of united top players hasn't perormed yet. surely WHEN rooney hits his form its going to lift united and nhelp them in chamions league FA cup etc.

The thing with Rooney is that he is a team player, he'll sacrifice chances to set up other players. I'd like to see him take more shots from outside the box, he made his name with those strikes for Everton and England. I'm happy with the way he's playing, Ronaldo is our top form player at the minute, as long as one of them is in their best form then we'll continue to win games. I still think we have another gear to get into and hopefully we'll reach that gear in this second half of the season.

Absolutely :D

Congratulations, the funniest post I've seen on ocuk this year. :)

Seriously though, I don't think Rooney needs to shoot more. He takes quite a few shots on when he's in position.

Personally I think it's more a case of him not getting into the right positions (partly the manager's fault) rather than him being afraid to shoot.
