Gotta find some of this stuff, anyone else a fan. Suprised it's never taken off.

Tastes like germolene.

Asda do some I think but it's nowhere near as nice as what Morrisons used to do, was in a beige can.

I drank a can today and was thinking of starting a thread about how nice it is!

Mine was a&w. I got it a Chinese supermarket in bayswater, it was produced in Singapore and imported from there, though a&w is an american brand.

A quick google suggests you could get 24 cans delivered for £21 from the American soda company (ocuk competitor??).

I had my can after some fish & chips and it made me feel clean and wholesome again!

Absolutely love the stuff. Was it irc in the beige cans, that was good ****. sainsburys used to do it, but they seem to of stoped.

You can get expensive bottles in supermarkets (about £1.80 for 330ml). I've tried various brands over the years but nothing beats the old Fanta Root Beer they used to do in McDonald's so many years ago...:(

Personally like A&W Vanilla and Barqs. Lovely stuff, although I haven't had any in a few months since I've been trying to lose weight. Got to love all the A&W fast food places in North America.

Asda sell Carters in cans, it's nice. Not sure if they did thier own brand stuff at some point?

I too remember McDonalds selling root beer, much prefer it to Coke. It was a travesty that they stopped to be honest.

If root beer is really that rare there (I'd have never thought of the UK as 3rd world  ) and you're willing to pay for it, be very picky. Find a microbrewery that makes it. Root Beer is made the exact same way as real beer, but without the yeast in it to set off the alcohol. Therefore, a brewery is typically going to use purer ingredients and nicer recipes than the mass market types.

As said before, Jones is excellent. Barqs is quite good. But if you really want a treat, find some Thomas Kemper.

And while you're at it, don't play games: http://www.lasvegasweekly.com/news/2011/jun/29/vanilla-anchor-steam-float/

:D

I love the stuff and all my friends think I'm weird for it.

It's hard to get where I am though, the local Chinese supermarket used to sell cans of A&W but they stopped that for some reason. Now all I can get is the yucky Mug stuff for £1+ per can. :(
