Router firewall protection

I have a router now, with BT Broadband and my question is: If I close my Kaspersky Internet Security suite down to play a game "offline", will the router give me firewall protection as I believe I am still connected to the 'net, even with my Firefox browser closed.

The NAT in the router should give you good protection from incoming packets

Incidentally do you not have a Game and Application Sharing option from within the router homepage?
