Hi, I'm looking at a new router.

Just a quick question, if a network is unsecured, is it more liable to pick up viruses even if there is no surrounding houses in range of picking up the router? So is securing a router soley from stoping someone else using your internet?

Also, could anyone recommened me a good router from OC?

Think I'm ASDL.

My current router has been unsecured, but I have no houses around me which could pick my router up, will it have been ok?

Yeh mine had been unsecured for a few month, but just fiddled about with the settings and secured it today.

Is securing a network soley to stop people using your internet, accessing your network or are can you be easily hacked? Sorry im not too clued up about this.

is that only if they are local and can pick up your router? i.e, next door neighbour?
