All,

I'm doing this as a separate thread so people actually read it.

I've just got back from my girlfriends and the rain has been going all day. Roads around here are EXCEPTIONALLY greasy and slippy, with loads of surface water due to blocked drains.

With the predicted forecast offering more of the same lets ensure we all take it easy whilst we are out on the roads, and that anyone offering passenger rides keeps things sensible and safe.

I can hear Will Gill and a few others boo'ing from the back of the room, so I'll back away from the microphone now, but just lets try and ensure we all have a fun day and no one spends the day having their car recovered.

Cheers

Gareth

I hope its raining. Roundabout are fun :p

Seriously though, good call. I dont have a tow bar or winch to dehedge any cars

I came home from work today and coming off the Ashby roundabout the Civic was still wheelspinning changing into third.

It has no power and no torque.

Conanius is right, this long dry spell followed by a splash of rain has really increased the slipperiness of the roads.

Excellent :D

(shhh !!! the likes of you don't need encouragement to do 4 wheel drifting when we steal wills keys!!)

Hi there

Also would like to say no beeping or horns and huge burn-outs around Powerstation either please. Its not fair on those guys when they get the locals giving them greif because of us noisy lot. :)

Where abouts do you work Lopez? I had someone almost go into the side of me late last night on the same roundabout. (Assuming we're talking about M42 roundabout near Tesco.) They decided to leave their braking to the last possible moment coming off the dual carriageway and slid right out onto the roundabout just behind me.

I've mentioned this before every RR day i've organised, and it still happens, so yeah, i'd like to echo your comments in the hope it makes a difference.

Gibbo, you got MSN at all to chat at all?

I remember the last RR day I went to and we had a big game of "beep.......beep.....beep..beep..beep.......beep.beep.beeep.beeep.beeep.......beeeep.beeeep" whilst waiting for the traffic lights...that was quite fun :p

that might actually have been me trying to make sure we were all in a line together to get to the motorway.
regardless of me providing links to instructions of how to get to the pub, getting people staying in convoy, and me telling people to wait before they leave, we ALWAYS loose people missing the turning/heading northbound/turning left instead of right etc etc ..... its all fun.

Aye the end of the M42/A42.

I work at the TNT Eurohub in Lount.

The roads round here are ridiculously slimy. DRZ nearly ploughed the Mondeo first time he drove it because he didn't believe how gripless they are.

Yeah, we must have some of the worst roads around, if they aren’t completely covered in mud, they are riddled with pot holes. I used to work up near the East Midlands Airport, and I can remember it taking two weeks for someone to fix a broken water pipe that was gushing water all over the twisty bit of road on the A453 just after Breedon, it must have been absolutely lethal at night.

4-wheels locked straight over a junction, I do believe.

Bloody ridiculous!

Question is, who is still going to be still half drunk from the night before thanks to the early start? :p
