I have been having a few little issues with the RS4 of late so I handed it into Audi on Monday and asked them to make it better again. The engine management light was coming on now and again for no obvious reason, well that's what their diagnostics told them when they plugged them in and I was also concerned it was a little flat and though still quick enough it simply didn't feel like it should. The drivers seat bolsters had never worked as they should and would not stay inflated and there were a few internal rattles that needed finding and fixing.
Got the call today and it seems the power/horses loss has been tracked down! I don't have the exact details yet as I will get this when I collect it but some sort of valve within in the intake system has failed, meaning its not been breathing as it should. As this valve is tied in to the exhaust flaps these too have failed so not only is it breathing with a cold its not able to clear its throat. They have fitted 2 new rear exhaust sections today and a new intake system gets fitted on Monday. None of this showed up on their diagnostics but after persistence from me that it simply was 'wrong' they have gone the extra mile and I have been proved correct.
The other bits are fixed so it will be interesting to see how it reacts when I collect it and if the new bits make it feel as it should, also nice that this is all done under warranty too. This will also explain why 366bhp was what I got on the RR at Thorneys!
