Rumour: AMD preparing "revision" for HD 6950/6970?

Alls I can say for gaming a lot on the same games with a 6950 and a 5850- they both seem to have as much straight line power under the hood, but the 6950 really pulls away when the going gets tough- a great example is changing turns in civ 5. The 5850 really used to lag at 875/1250, the 6950 maintains a really smooth framerate throughout.

What really impresses me is that the 5850 was outputting to a 1640x1040 monitor...the 6950 is on 1920x1200. That means its doing much better, with a third more pixels to cope with.

Thats great to hear.

But what i meant was, if there is any news concerning the rumored revision of the pcb. I am hoping for maybe a little cooler and quieter cards, just because auf the TI dr MOS http://www.ti.com/ww/de/analog/dualcool/index.shtml .

I am wondering if there really will be a new revision, if it will be released to markets without further notice and i t will be kind of russion roulette to get a new or old version. Or if there will be a press release .. .
