Rumour - "SuperSlim" PS3 hinted at in FCC filing

That looks alright to be honest. A sliding lid is pretty novel, and matches the intention Sony have of replacing the ejecting cd drive with a top lid implemention.
The ridges seem really 1970s to me though. Really retro. I was hoping for a flat top design like the gorgeous slim PS2. I'm still undecided on if it looks nice or not. Better better images!

Can't really tell from those pictures but it seems all right. I hate the slot loading drive and so does Sony probably, having to return folks' discs all the time when they get jammed. Probably creates a lot of repair jobs unnecessarily.

The PS2 Slim is the best designed console that Sony have ever made IMHO. Flat surfaces and straight lines.

This super slim PS3's top looks pretty hideous. Not sure what the designers were thinking. Why not keep things simple!? Sliding top adds an extra few mm's to the design for the cover to slide into. Why not just keep it simple with a flip-top like the PS2?

With how far computer tech has come since the original PS3 arrived, with super slim laptops having more graphical power and the PSP Vita being pretty snazzy, I would expect Sony to repackage their PS3 into a 'super slim' design. It both ups the sales of the console and also heavily reduces production costs as most of the electronic gadgetry that used to require many chips will now all be done on one. Heck, the Intel HD 4000 series is not far off what the current consoles can do!

No, my Fat PS2 is, because I bought with a Messiah 2 chip fitted a matter of weeks before selling pre-modded consoles was banned :p.

Yeah, doesn't look bad to me. Although with my current PS3 being vertical stacked next to the tele, changing discs will be impossible. :D It would have to find a new place to lie.

Here's some "worse" images to back up the better image previously shown Xenon89...
