Russian airliner missing over Egypt

We dont know yet, most reported issues on takeoff or shortly after are communicated back to ATC. We have missing comms here. So could be either or at the moment :(

No, the pilot reported technical difficulties and requested an emergency landing. Clearly never made it to the rerouted airport.

All eyes will be on airbus now and engine manufacturers. After flight data has been analysed

I couldnt imagine turning up to a scene like that and if those reports were right hearing people screaming. I guess they could not do anything about it :(

P.s no need to derail the thread

Dive too fast would have resulted in a much heavier impact. I wouldn't think that you would hear screams or hear reports of some still strapped in seats.

Although it will be speculation until the data recorder is analysed.

I seen a report of an estimated decent rate of 6000 feet / min, not sure how accurate or where they got this from. Surely if you lose a plane from radar you can't tell this info. Unless the were seeing it decend before it dissapeared

Hmm. Its hard to tell to be honest. I could very well be fake and they are just trying to make everyone think its their work. On the other hand it could very well be.

The video itself it's not clear, although im leaning towards foul play, these things generally don't just happen. Russian airline, in the middle east, who is bombarding Islamic state at the moment

Something smells awfully fishy

Why would you not try and communicate?

A low air speed whilst gaining altitude would result in a stall which also could be recoverable if you correct it by pitching down or adjusting the angle of attack to point nose down Slightly to regain the air speed i think

I doubt they would be allowed to hide things. Its not them who would be investigating anyway. Only thing they may have any worry about is safety checks, records, service etc if it turns out this isn't foul play

Is there any actual forensic evidence, or is it the usual combination of speculation and every terrorist organisation in the nearby vicinity claiming responsibility?

If they have suspended all flights to Sharm, I would expect they have something to go by.

Airports lose millions if flights in/out cannot occur, if this did happen by bomb, they need to seriously sort out the security in that airport, and I would think a major audit would go ahead on the security in other airports

That is one major major cockup if something got through, people should be all over this by now.
