Hi chaps

Thinking of upgrading my Lian Li train to modern computing power and was wondering if the RX 6400 Pulse which is available in Low Profile form was better than the integrated graphics of something cheap and cheerful like the Ryzen 5600 G.

Can only fit low profile cards in the case and max length is about 180mm or so.

The 5600G is around a RX 550 (128-bit version) and it can push a RX 560 in some games, while the RX 6400 is more like a RX 570 (on PCI-E 4.0).

Thanks chaps

I spent some time looking up RX 550, 560 and 570 to try to get some idea of the difference, a generation of cards that passed me by.

Will go for the 6400 and a 5600X. I don't use the PC that much but it is a fun machine to use occasionally.

If it helps, the 570 is about 3x as fast. None of them are really fast enough for new(er) AAA games, but the 570 is still good for everything else.

You'll be pcie 3 if on the 5600G. I'd not buy the extremely gimped 6400, unless I had a pcie 4 capable CPU/board.
What is your current motherboard?

(Sorry if it's in signature. Can't see that on mobile. :D)

For what it's worth there is a 4060 low profile from gigabyte. It's much wider and longer that the 6400 and much more expensive. But is the same height. So might fit.

I now have the Sapphire RX6400 Pulse, it only just fits lengthwise, mm's left! It is very quiet even when running the Unigine tests.

The lack of power connectors is brilliant as space is very tight indeed.

Current board is an ancient Z87 but planning to replace with a B550 shortly so should see an improvement.
