Ryzen 1600 bent pins

Had a bit of stress today...chose my stepson a new rig and tried building it for him.

CPU wouldn't go in and I realised that the three diagonal pins at the front were bent.

Not sure whether I did it opening the plastic (I really struggled to get it to open).

20 mins of trying to scalpel them straight with shaking hands, strained eyes and a burning face from the sun blasting through the window (needed the light) and I finally got them perfect.

It went in fine and works fine.

Just a cautionary tale.

Stressed it and it's definitely fine.

I know I shouldn't be jealous of six slower cores and faster ram...but I am!

You probably should; give it a really multithreaded task and you know those 6 slower cores will come out on top Maybe not by 50%, but by enough that it will irk you

...is it too late to put your old motherboard/CPU/memory into the new case and will he know the difference if you do?

Everything I play prefers raw clockspeed so I'm ok for now!

Done this a few times myself, once was building a PC for a friend and I was full of flu, not a good combination.

Is he pleased with the Ryzen?

He's not a pc person per se and will just be playing DOTA until the 1070 he wants comes in stock but in as far as it doesn't blue screen all the time ...yes he's very pleased.

His Pentium and 7850 have served him well for 5 years of constant hammering.
