This past month my motherboard decided to die on my beloved Ivybridge I5 3350p system, decided to go for the ol' Cpu+motherboard+ram upgrade.

My heads in a spin on what to do wait for the I5 8400 (already been waiting a month) go with the I3 8100 till stock is settled or take the offers on the R5 1600x including the Asus Rog game promotion.

I have no plans to overclock which is why i went with the 1600x over the 1600, felt like £20 was acceptable and I'am wondering just how the Cryorig M9A will cope, hard to find any specific Ryzen results for this cooler so any help is much appreciated, personal experience included.

Thanks!

Ryzen is a very power efficient CPU, you can even overclock it with the Stock cooler and the Cryorig M9A is better than that so it'll be perfectly fine.

You will be fine with that. I was running the 1600 at 3.8ghz on the stock cooler, just the slight buzz it made was driving me mad so purchased a Cryorig H7. Apart from the slight woosh of air they rig is now silent.
